Ivanhoé Blachez and Horace Blachez playing music for seniors

(…) An assisted living residence stood in front of the Parisian apartment where the Blachez family had just moved. It was a sign. Their first concert dedicated to seniors took place there in December 2018 during the center’s Christmas meal. The outcome was unequivocally clear: the moment was magical, transcending age and time, and marked the beginning of playing for nursing homes.

Since then they have multiplied the number of gigs and inspired more children to participate.

Pascale created a collective called “Pour nos ainés” (For our seniors) constantly inviting more kids to perform in senior centers and assisted living residences with them.

After a few years, more than 200 children had embarked in the adventure and had participated in at least one of the hundred of concerts.

The Blachez moved back to New York in 2022 and exported the project, enrolling new children who wanted to be a part of it as well. The Happiness Factory was founded in Fall 2023 as a result of all the successful performances and investment of families.
