Our concerts

Who we serve

We perform in Nursing homes, Assisted Living residences, Senior Community Centers, occasionally for underserved communities and for fundraising of NGO who fight against exclusion.

We perform in each venue a few times a year to create bonds and foster intergenerational connection with the residents, to get to know them and come back with the music they want to listen to.

Once we know an audience better, we can adapt our repertoire or prepare pieces they would like to hear.

We strive to serve every type of income level community of seniors. Whatever the socio-economic background, so many older adults suffer from isolation and severe loneliness once they are placed in retirement homes. We dream about having a Factory for each Home.

What we play

Pascale and Ludovic Blachez playing with young musicians

The group of musicians, aged 4 to 20, varies from one concert to the next, typically from 6 to 14 children, with many styles, instruments, playing solo, duets, trios or/and with the band.

Our curated performances are intentionally designed to touch the hearts of seniors, blending classical music, jazz, and pop and folk songs familiar to them, the music they have loved throughout their lives. These are not traditional recitals, but joyful, engaging experiences where senior residents sing, clap, move, smile, and often cry. The gratitude and emotional impact are profound, as reflected in the many testimonials we receive after each concert.

Each concert features a real band, piano, drums, double bass, horns, and most importantly, heart.

We encourage children to participate with siblings and family members, creating a shared experience rooted in generosity and compassion.

Our bedside programs

For the residents who can not leave their room, a smaller group of young musicians go from room to room, delivering intimate moments of live music and connection directly at the bedside of the seniors. In addition to music, children often bring greeting cards or drawings they have created for the residents, further strengthening the human bond. It is an emotionally powerful experience with a remarkable impact.

At The Happiness Factory we truly believe music is the language of the soul and should touch its listeners.

We encourage a variety of different music pieces which can unlock memories of the seniors.

They usually love music they recognize and very often ask us to take the mic and sing with us.

Even beginners can join by playing or singing along. The unity works at every single concert to enchant the room. Music should remain improvised moments, it is not always necessary to organize rehearsals beforehand.

We welcome all instruments, we bring our keyboard if there is no piano in the room.

We also provide speakers, mics and amplifiers.

What we share

At The Happiness Factory we spread joy but not only through music.

During the concerts, children who are not musicians but would like to participate, have the opportunity to offer their drawings to the elderly. This could also be holiday cards or even letters written by strangers who want to share a few words with them. We partnered a few times with the non profit organization 1letter1smile which provides us with letters written for the seniors.

Children can also say a poem, dance or participate in many ways.
